Accounting Manager

Pinpoint Precision Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager with experience in the Architecture, Engineering, or Construction industry expereince to serve as the steward of our financial data. You will oversee all operational accounting functions, ensuring 100% accuracy and rigorous adherence to industry compliance standards, including FAR Part 31 and CAS. Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) designation is strongly preferred. Professional Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record in the Civil Engineering, construction, or government contracting industries. Skill Set Strong proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Ajera, ADP Total Source) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong expertise in regulatory accounting standards (FAR/CAS). Excellent organizational skills with a focus on audit readiness and data integrity. Exceptional leadership and communication skills to mentor the accounting team. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise all aspects of the company’s accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, and general ledger activities. Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to ensure financial reporting integrity. Lead the preparation of annual tax filings and the Annual Overhead Rate submission in strict accordance with FAR Part 31. Maintain clear and transparent financial records to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards, particularly the FAR (Part 31) and CAS. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations and industry-specific requirements. Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard company assets and prevent fraud. Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and government agencies regarding financial records and audit inquiries. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous process improvement. Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost allocation and project-level financial monitoring. Manage the financial implications of complex construction contracts, including change orders, retainage, Prime and Subconsultant invoicing, and progress billing. Ensure accurate project cost accounting, revenue recognition, and job cost reporting to support project financial performance analysis.
