Account Payable/Account Receivable Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable (AP/AR) Specialist to join our team in Clearwater, FL. This role requires hands-on proficiency in both payables and receivables functions, with the ability to manage the full AP/AR cycle independently. The ideal candidate is local to the Clearwater area, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and brings proven experience managing vendor relationships, customer billing, and month-end close activities.

Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices accurately and in accordance with company policies and payment terms
- Review and match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices (3-way match)
- Support weekly check runs and general AP process
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain and update vendor records, W-9s, and 1099 documentation
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment inquiries and account issues
- Assist with month-end AP close, including accruals and aging report review
Accounts Receivable
- Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on schedule
- Support the management of the AR aging report; escalate past-due accounts as needed
- Process customer payments checks and credit cards
- Perform cash application and reconcile customer accounts
- Follow up on outstanding balances via phone and email; maintain professional customer relationships
- Support month-end AR close, including reporting and reconciliation
General Accounting & Administrative
- Assist with external audits by providing documentation and supporting schedules
- Identify and recommend xhyhwjd process improvements to streamline AP/AR workflows
- Support the accounting team with ad hoc reporting and special projects as assigned
- Support filing and organization of all paperwork used in both the AP and AR Process.
Education:
- Associate (Preferred)
Experience:
- AP/AR: 3 years (Required)
