Facilities Coordinator

Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority

The Facilities Coordinator will oversee, monitor, and coordinate facility cleaning, station cleaning, and station maintenance. This is a mobile position that entails traveling to, inspecting, and reporting on conditions at multiple locations. Responsibilities Ensure the stations are clean and safe in order to provide overall good customer experience. Serve as a liaison between Subway Operations, internal Authority departments and external contractors in order to coordinate cleaning and maintenance activities. Coordinate the implementation of programs and/or procedures. Respond to each inquiry, whether from a customer, vendor or coworker in a courteous and professional manner. Drive a company or personal vehicle to visit work sites as needed. Analyze, prepare, and maintain statistical reports relating to cleaning initiatives. Respond, either directly or through others, to emergencies twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week. Uphold the rights and interests of the Authority while building and maintaining an effective relationship with employees. Assist in the management of a workforce by ensuring the fair and consistent application and strict adherence to the rules, regulations, collective bargaining agreements (if applicable), and policies of the Authority, including the EEO, Anti-discrimination and Anti-harassment, and Anti-retaliation policies. Perform all other duties and projects that may be assigned. Qualifications A high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution Three (3) or more years of experience supervising cleaning/maintenance vendors. Proficient in Word, Excel, Database, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Project Management, or Mainframe applications. Skilled in collaborating with employees, vendors, contractors, and customers at all levels. Strong organizational, analytical, quantitative, multitasking, and time management skills. Expert in handling sensitive and confidential matters in an appropriate manner. Able to provide courteous, professional customer service internally and externally. Exhibited strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent presentation and conflict resolution skills. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with suppliers, vendors, contractors, and operating departments. Able to work effectively with a diverse workforce. Possession of a valid driver’s license without infractions in accordance with MBTA policy Successful applicants must have the English language skills required for the effective performance of the position. Supervision None Substitutions None A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Facilities Management or a related field. Certificate in Project Management or a related field.
