Lead UX Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Lead UX Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze, document, and present production tools, methods, and best practices to team members;
- Preferred experience with 508/WCAG compliance standards, web/mobile accessibility audits, and recommending fixes;
- Guide multi-faceted client projects to ensure a strategic approach to time and budget;
- Review team and project team deliverables;
- Bring a research-driven approach using real data to justify decisions and project direction;
- Plan and provide operational oversight in database maintenance with minimal impact to customers;
- Attend product scope meetings, provide estimates, review scopes for estimate accuracy and design adherence;
- Write well-designed, testable, efficient SQL queries, code, and scripts;
- Help to build out the growing UX team by evaluating top candidates to support growing demand;
- Participates in code reviews, ensuring best practices are followed;
- Identify and resolve production application issues;
- Provide data modeling solutions by designing and maintaining new logical and physical data models;
- Implement industry-wide best practices in fluid, mobile-first response design;
- Create intuitive interfaces and interaction layers using best practices, the latest web trends and all available tools to augment the user experience;
- Participates in prototyping and proof of concept system development and benchmarking.
Requirements:
- 6-8+ years of Human-Computer Interaction Design and Information experience;
- User Centered Design and Research;
- Experience in architecture, UI prototyping, digital product UX design, Service Design;
- Sketch App, InVision, Flinto, Zeplin, and other lean prototyping tools;
- Strong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development field;
- 5+ years of experience on Linux/Unix;
- Experience developing a compelling, comprehensive design system and related elements;
- Experience with ETL tools and data warehouse concepts is a plus (Talend Preferred);
- Experience with Cloud computing platforms, such as Azure, Amazon AWS;
- Dedicated systems thinking, comfortable with the big picture and driving information architecture;
- Passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation; in tune with the industry’s latest trends and technologies;
- Understand hybrid mobile and progressive web-app development;
- Experience with modern, component-based JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React);
- A strong portfolio demonstrating past design experiences and deliverables;
- Basic understanding of accessibility guidelines, WCAG 2.0 and Section 508.
