Senior UI Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Senior UI Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with vendors and outside specialty resources;
- Be involved in implementation by filing bugs, following up on progress and course-correcting when technical limitations are reached;
- Contribute to studio culture, inspire others;
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas;
- Work in partnership with strategic and account team to understand and manage client needs;
- Conceptualize original ideas that bring simplicity and user friendliness to complex design roadblocks;
- Define and implement innovative solutions for digital direction, visuals and experiences;
- Collaborate with research to validate concepts for new UX or new features;
- Create user stories that convey accurate and valuable product narratives Iterate with product team and other designers on UX directions and strategy.
Requirements:
- A strong portfolio demonstrating approach, process and outcome for a full project from strategy to design implementation;
- Minimum 3 years experience in UX design;
- Must be either a mobile developer, or familiar with mobile developer workflow (Android, iOS, and/or Web);
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, InVision, Zeplin, Adobe Photoshop, Figma;
- A consultative mindset: Understanding the client’s challenges, becoming their partner, advising and supporting them in driving successful outcomes;
- Understands the impact of visual design, and can evolve wireframes in pixel- perfect mocks when necessary;
- At least 5 years of professional work within the experience design field, preferably from a consulting or agency setting;
- Demonstrate strong appreciation and knowledge of UX and fundamental design principles;
- The ability to work on and manage multiple project work concurrently;
- Web development abilities: HTML, CSS;
- Deep knowledge of design principles for iOS, Android and Web solutions (including Responsive Design and native applications);
- Proficient in Sketch (Bohemian Coding);
- Mobile development abilities: Android Java, iOS (Swift or Objective C);
- Strategic thinking with a solid understanding of visual design research and design best practice;
- Education: BA Design or HCI.
