Our company is looking for a Registered Nurse Surgical Services to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Carries out physician orders;
- Orients and mentors new staff members;
- Instructs and educates patients and families;
- Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs;
- Assesses and coordinates patient’s discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team;
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems;
- Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care;
- Provides age and culturally appropriate care;
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required;
- Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs;
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families;
- Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs;
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients;
- Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders.
Requirements:
- Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications;
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills;
- Current licensure as an RN;
- Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider;
- Minimum 1 year OR experience in acute care setting;
- Lifting 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs;
- Nursing Diploma or ASN; BSN preferred;
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment;
- Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing;
- Current Florida State Registered Nurse license or compact.
