Our company is looking for a Butcher to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Process meat cuts according to portions and business standards;
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are met including proper storage of meats;
- Oversee inventory levels and quality control;
- Maintain cutting equipment functionality;
- Use fingers and hands; substantial hand strength;
- Close vision, have eye-hand coordination and peripheral vision;
- Stand in one place for extended periods of time;
- Talk and hear;
- Walk;
- reach with hands and arms;
- Use repetitive motion with hands and arms;
- Use sense of smell.
Requirements:
- Experience working as a butcher or similar role;
- Ability to work with and coordinate with a team to ensure success;
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and utensils;
- Able to work in a cold environment for long periods of time;
- Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays;
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
- Ability to accurately follow written and verbal instructions;
- Ability to work with knives, hand tools and utensils;
- Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting;
- Familiarity with BBQ pits, smoking processes, and knives;
- Able to stand and handle hot foods for long periods of time;
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, management and guests;
- Physically able to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally and up to 30 pounds of force frequently;
- 1+ year of experience working with meat, preferably in a high-volume retail environment.
