Our company is looking for a Full Time Cook to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to push/pull 30 lbs;
  • Prepare requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed;
  • Stock and maintain designated food station(s);
  • Operates ovens, stoves, steam tables and other kitchen equipment as required;
  • Manage guest orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner;
  • Prepares food to be served at certain times and temperatures;
  • Follows recipes and prepares meals as directed;
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the dietary department / kitchen- may oversee and train others engaged in food preparation activities;
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff;
  • Chop vegetables, prepare sauces and other food preparation;
  • Demonstrate a conscientious attitude in daily operations through portion control and eliminating waste;
  • Follow procedures and guidelines in food cooling, hot food holding and prevention of cross contamination;
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food;
  • Ability to modify a recipe to meet the needs of restricted diets or numbers to be served;
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

Requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail;
  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus ability to read, follow instructions and lift up to fifty pounds;
  • Prior dietary experience preferred;
  • Ability to work on own or in teams;
  • Ability to communicate, read, comprehend, understand and write messages, and follow directions is required;
  • Maintains neat, professional appearance;
  • Able to prioritize and multi-task;
  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience;
  • NVQ Level 1;
  • Able to meet all scheduling commitments;
  • History of excellent attendance;
  • Restaurant experience a plus;
  • Candidate must be a team player, have a positive outlook and excellent problem solving skills;
  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time for training and safety purposes, and when interacting with guests and associates;
  • Ability to work under pressure.
