Our company is looking for a Part Time Cook to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be excited to keep their workstation organized, clean, and ready for constant action;
  • Ensure that food quality, quantity, freshness, and presentation meet all Country Cookin’ standards;
  • Must be accurate and able to multitask with several orders happening at one time;
  • Prepare, maintain and monitor quality control for hot food items including, but not limited to, meat, fish, fowl, sauces, stocks and seasonings;
  • Monitor the number of meals served on a daily basis and quality of food items used. Provide statistical break down by department as needed;
  • Prep and prepare facility meals in accordance with menus; making allowances for clients medically approved special dietary needs;
  • Assist in serving meals after preparation;
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or at management requests;
  • Maintain the kitchen and food preparation area to meet the highest standard of cleanliness in accordance with Department of Health requirements;
  • Assist with Special Events meal planning and preparation as needed;
  • Therapeutic food items are prepared when needed and are attractive and palatable;
  • Standardized recipes, portions & procedures are followed as established by the Executive Chef and Kitchen Operations Assistant;
  • Scratch/batch cooking techniques followed wherever possible;
  • Make recommendation as to when and how much needs to be ordered;
  • Assist the Lead Cooks establish and enforce an effective tracking system to recognize and prevent product loss.

Requirements:

  • Fulfills resident special meal requests and adheres to dietary requirements;
  • The ability to communicate in an efficient and friendly manner;
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, liquor, and common drink recipes;
  • Supporting team members to reach common goals;
  • Remaining calm under pressure while working with speed and accuracy;
  • The ability to prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards;
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance;
  • Completing and excelling at any necessary certifications and safety training;
  • The physical ability to stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time;
  • Candidate must be a team player, have a positive outlook and excellent problem solving skills;
  • Restaurant experience a plus;
  • Interpersonal Skills: Works well with others from diverse backgrounds. Ability to interact with students and staff appropriately;
  • History of excellent attendance;
  • Computer Skills: General knowledge of computer usage and ability to use, e-mail, internet software and word processing software;
  • Maintains neat, professional appearance.
