State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Recording vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration rate;
- Providing routine individualized healthcare needs;
- Personal Care including bathing, dressing, mobility, incontinence care, feeding and other services;
- Assist other STNAs and nurses at the direction of the Charge Nurse;
- Follow facility procedures for admission, discharge and transfer of residents;
- Giving basic emotional and psychological support to the patient and family;
- Directly provide nursing or nursing-related service;
- Maintaining records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report;
- Assisting residents with daily living activities such as getting out of bed, bathing, dressing, using the toilet, standing, walking, or exercising;
- Promoting patient’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest;
- Ensure that nutritional needs of residents are met in accordance with established care plan;
- Maintain physical environment in a clean, safe, and pleasant manner;
- Ensure that residents’ medical needs are addressed through the delivery of quality nursing care;
- Ensure that residents’ personal care needs are provided for with an emphasis on quality, compassion, and timeliness;
- Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
Requirements:
- Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients;
- Must be a graduate of a State-approved STNA program;
- One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred;
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action;
- Must be currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment;
- Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team;
- Up-to-date car insurance in your name, registration and valid Driver’s License;
- License must be in good standing;
- Successful completion of state testing for nursing assistants or completion of NATCEP class within past four months;
- Highly organized with attention to detail;
- State Testing Nurse’s Aide (STNA);
- Must project a positive attitude;
- Must be willing and able to learn;
- Ability to read and write and accurately report;
- Certified in the state as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
