Landscape Architect / Designer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Landscape Architect / Designer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing presentation packages, sketching schematic design, delegating and managing drawings;
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested;
- Responsible for overseeing and assembling project deliverables under direction of Principal and Senior Project Managers;
- Updates electronic files;
- Assists with site observations and reviews during the construction phase of projects;
- Preparing construction documents, design development – details and delegating and managing drawings;
- Provides design documentation in the form of graphic illustration, imagery research and documentation on assigned projects;
- Project Designer, collaboration with principal in concept development and design features;
- Communicates with assigned project team and others regarding project work as necessary;
- Assists in preparation of client meetings and presentations.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of or ability to learn and apply applicable codes and regulations;
- Able to assemble and develop construction packages for a variety of project types;
- Excellent design and graphic skills, and the ability to generate and articulate design concepts and solutions;
- Five years or more of directly related experience;
- Proficiency with hand sketching, InDesign, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Photoshop;
- Able to communicate with the entire design/build team in a fast-paced office environment;
- Real world knowledge and understanding of landscape and hardscape construction;
- Proficiency at hand drawing and in the use of a CAD based drafting and modeling software (Vectorworks preferred);
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Experience with Construction Project Management, including quality control, estimating and budgeting;
- Knowledge of common and unique plant varieties that are desirable in residential landscapes;
- Exceptional skill in developing high quality presentations and construction documents;
- Maintain cutting edge knowledge in the field;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build strong client relationships;
- Solid plant knowledge.
