Our company is looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support efforts in proposal development, project scoping as well as with client relationship development;
  • Provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers and technicians, and contribute to the success of a collaborative team;
  • Represent respective projects at meetings and conferences;
  • Managing and execution of mechanical engineering and design for projects of moderate to high level of complexity;
  • Conduct condition assessments of building mechanical systems;
  • Supervise project work of mechanical engineers, technicians and CAD designers, and coordinate with collaborating disciplines;
  • Develop knowledge and skills in leadership of the application of engineering principles, scientific analysis, and project management;
  • Make recommendations on project staffing, evaluate subordinates and make salary recommendations;
  • Develop and mentor technical teams;
  • Lead and organize design processes for implementation of advanced 3D/MEP CAD methods;
  • Provide technical support during construction activities;
  • Develop costs estimates for mechanical building systems;
  • Support business development activity including client interface, proposal preparation, industry research, team building;
  • Assist in the development of costs estimates for transit and infrastructure mechanical systems;
  • Identify complex technical issues and provide necessary solutions to eliminate root cause.

Requirements:

  • Specific, technical knowledge and expertise in UCTAD tissue and/or towel manufacturing;
  • Familiarity with machine startups;
  • Experience working with external technical service providers;
  • Demonstrated personal sensitivity and competency in design and/or use of engineering/scientific analysis systems/tools;
  • Continuing self-development and experience in a variety of assignments is preferred;
  • Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a variety of technical or operational assignments in a manufacturing environment;
  • Minimum of 8 years designing mechanical systems with emphasis in one or more of HVAC, Fire Protection, Emergency Ventilation, Fire Life Safety;
  • LEED AP Certification;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited program;
  • P.E. License is required, LEED Certification is preferred;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and ability to work within a team environment;
  • Washington PE registration, or ability to receive within 6 months;
  • Record of participation in industry groups such as NFPA, ASHRAE, SFPE, AMCA, ASPE, APTA etc;
  • Detailed knowledge of mechanical engineering design and construction principles, methods, and standards related to the facilities development;
  • Have excellent communication skills, be a self-starter / team player, motivated and able to manage/direct others (internally and externally).
