Our company is looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Review, check and analyze design drawings prior to client submittals;
  • Application of uninterruptible power systems;
  • Ability to establish and maintain good business relationships with key client contacts throughout the project;
  • Supervise and monitor staff ensuring that engineering packages are completed on time and within budget;
  • Principal Engineer is responsible for managing projects budgets and scheduling of department hours;
  • Electrical heat trace design;
  • Creates detailed electrical design package (including specifications, BOMs, schematics, wiring diagrams, analyses, etc.);
  • Strong technical skills and an ability to mentor and assist staff in all aspects of electrical design, including I&C specifications and selection;
  • Manages the creation and deployment of software-driven manufacturing and test tools at contract manufacturing organizations;
  • Evaluates and proposes modeling and testing methodologies to validate a component, circuit, and hardware designs and thermal/emissions management;
  • Design and capture schematics using the Mentor Graphics suite, and work closely with the layout designer ensure a working and manufacturable design;
  • Application of medium to high voltage transformers;
  • Provide FMA and other troubleshooting support to production on new and existing products;
  • Provide technical leadership for next generation atomic clock design and development;
  • Develop and execute test and qualification plans for engineering prototypes.

Requirements:

  • Provide leadership to monitor, enforce, and improve quality of work;
  • 10 years experience in product development. At least 3 years of experience in complex and compact medical;
  • 5+ Years of experience working in power distribution or engineering consulting;
  • 5 years of experience in electronics design, PCBA test, bring-up, and end product deployment using Altium Designer;
  • Experienced in design-for-test (DFT) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) practices for high-volume products;
  • Familiarity with low power systems, battery performance testing, and power consumption;
  • Familiar with Harness Related Mil Specs and NASA specs;
  • Debugging skills of RF, digital, processor, FW, and power circuitry;
  • Experience working with 32bit Cortex-M microcontrollers for medical device embedded applications;
  • A working knowledge of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques;
  • Requires a complete understanding of analog designs such as active filters and control loops;
  • FPGA design experience is preferred.
