Release Train Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Release Train Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Drive relentless improvement;
- Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets;
- Work with enterprise agile centers of excellence;
- Facilitate PI planning events;
- Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevSecOps and Release on Demand competency;
- Assist tracking the execution of features and capabilities;
- Escalate and track impediments;
- Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings;
- Encourage collaboration between teams and System Architects/Engineering;
- Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART using various tools, such as the Program Kanban and other information radiators;
- Work with management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment;
- Assure the correct individuals on the ART own, mitigate, and communicate issues and risks;
- Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks;
- Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices;
- Establish and communicate the annual calendars for Iterations and Program Increments (PIs).
Requirements:
- Enacting change & continuous improvement to increase the productivity of the ART;
- Leading the Program Team through Release Planning readiness and Continuous Grooming;
- SAFe Certified;
- Participates in and supports Agile Communities of Practice;
- Collecting, documenting, managing, and helping to mitigate program issues and risks;
- Maintaining stakeholder communications flow for transparency and awareness;
- Escalating impediments that may impact the progress of the ART;
- Promoting Agile practices to all members of the Agile Release Train (ART);
- Awareness of program level budget (time, money, and resources) and roadmap;
- At least 5 years of experience leading Agile Transformation;
- Assisting business with economic decision making by facilitating epic estimation by teams and rolling up to achieve Program level visibility;
- Ownership of feature completion tracking, metrics, and corresponding communications both within and outside of the train;
- Scrum Alliance CSM or CSP certification or PMI’s Agile Certified Professional (ACP);
- Facilitating program ceremonies including Planning, Inspect and Adapt Workshops, System Demos, and Program Level Scrum of Scrums;
- Bachelor’s degree.
