Being a Testing Technician assists technical teams with recommendations to resolve testing problems, roadblocks or equipment malfunctions that impact the performance or validity of testing. Requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment. Additionally, Testing Technician typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Testing Technician gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. To be a Testing Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Test Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting non-working boards and systems;
  • Performs other duties as required;
  • Performing repairs, modifications and testing of electronic boards;
  • Assist in building test equipment, STE and test fixtures;
  • Assist in troubleshooting of modules that fail performance tests;
  • Generate test reports and interpret test data;
  • Review test data to determine out of specification anomaly or failures;
  • Setup and operate X-Ray machine;
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as required or requested from time to time;
  • Follow applicable Company Quality Procedures;
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work environment to 5S standards;
  • Perform multiple tests with solid understanding of ohms’ law and its application;
  • Observing acceptance tests;
  • Proposes and assists in implementing enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system;
  • Escorting visitors in the equipment labs.

Requirements:

  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, proportions;
  • Standing for prolonged periods of time;
  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs ability to walk, stand and sit for extended periods, and climb stairs;
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry;
  • Basic electrical knowledge;
  • Experience working in a Lean Mfg. environment;
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with handling small delicate components, using ESD practices;
  • Follow written and verbal instructions;
  • Write reports, correspondence and document procedures;
  • Ability to assemble and wire electro-mechanical devices, components, and subassemblies from schematics and layout drawings;
  • The ability to move safely over uneven terrain as well as restricted spaces;
  • Familiarity with test and troubleshooting methods for communication equipment;
  • Possess or have the ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance;
  • Requires analytical thinking, and strong troubleshooting skills;
  • The ability to climb ladders while carrying up to 50 lbs.
