UI Artist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a UI Artist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Bounce between multiple tasks, projects, and requests while maintaining a consistent quality;
- Provide and receive constructive feedback and critique;
- Create and implement a broad variety of high quality artwork for use in our games and media;
- Work with the UI team to maintain a consistent style across the game;
- Move from wireframe to visual iterations to finished art, and finally to implementation in an – actual UI system;
- Watch and find inspiration from the latest examples of motion graphics in games as well as film, advertising and fine art;
- Ability to implement in Unreal;
- Research, learn and share new technology and production techniques with the UI art team;
- Collaborate on a multi-disciplinary team;
- Create engaging graphics and animations with solid user interface design;
- Ability to create clear, organized wireframe concepts in service UX flow exploration;
- Represent and promote the intended art direction through collaboration with Engineering and Design;
- Able to develop in multiple engine types; able to drive toolset improvements and present feedback to tool developers.
Requirements:
- Scripting language basics, XML basics;
- Online portfolio is required;
- 3+ years games industry experience;
- BFA from accredited Art or Design college;
- Great sense of modern visual styles;
- Ability and willingness to create games that do not follow traditional game-art styles;
- Minimum of 1 game shipped as UI / Game Shell artist;
- Professional experience in User Interface design and Motion Graphics;
- Passionate about electronic, hip hop and pop music – musicians/DJs/emcees preferred;
- Typography and Illustration skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and superior people skills to work in a creative and positive manner with the team;
- Understanding of when to sacrifice quantity or quality to adhere to schedules and milestone deliveries;
- Strong portfolio of graphic work, typography, animation and drawings;
- Familiarity with Unreal and Unity engines;
- Basic 3D modeling and animation skills.
