Business Intelligence Analyst Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and test new queries with end users;
- Develop procedures and build data displays that facilitate intuitive and instantaneous delivery of information;
- Define, develop, and implement solutions to existing business problems;
- Develop powerful presentations and present to key stakeholders/executives your actionable insights and recommendations;
- Performing user acceptance testing;
- Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action;
- Researches business problems and assists in the creation of models that help analyze these problems;
- Uncover and recommend product improvement opportunities that would lead to increased purchase behavior (both inside and outside the app);
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands or arms;
- Designing and developing enterprise wide data analysis, dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI and SSRS;
- Collaborate with the data team to ensure a complete data catalog;
- Trains end-user community on how to understand and interpret data analysis, including predictive analysis;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Own and develop relationship with partners, working with them to optimize and enhance our integration;
- Work with various APIs to access and aggregate data for a variety of internal and client platforms.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio);
- Proficiency in working with large-scale business data sets with fluency in scripting and;
- Partners with the business operations to ensure effective design of decision support solutions;
- Ability to conduct BI tool training to both internal and external end users;
- Clearly define project scope, timelines, and deliverables. Must effectively manage time in order to meet delivery commitments;
- Work with users to perform UAT before deploying to production to ensure solutions meet or exceed documented specifications;
- Experience querying Amazon Redshift tables;
- Experience with Business Objects is a plus;
- Assists in setting roadmap and release schedules; provides training & guidance to end users;
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to multitask while efficiently completing high quality work;
- Perform complex data processing (e.g. merging, sorting, data transformations) using Alteryx, Access, or other ETL tools;
- Researches/recommends tools and systems to support best-in-class end-user environment;
- SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, Power BI, Python;
