Behavior Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Behavior Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Collecting preference assessments and running clinical programs as directed by a Case Manager;
- Following and recording data for prescribed communication, adaptive skills, feeding, toilet training, and other programs;
- Following the behavior intervention plan for skills acquisition and behavior reduction protocols;
- Building and maintaining a positive environment for clients while reinforcing desirable behaviors and building a good rapport;
- Writing and reviewing session notes for parent/guardian(s);
- Assist with company trainings (restraint trainings, individual-specific trainings, initial trainings, diagnosis-specific trainings, etc.);
- Identify the need for new behavior management trainings to help DSCs with managing clients;
- Assume an on call position every other week for emergency crisis situations;
- Collaborate with behavior analyst(s) to assist with implementing/altering behavior treatment plans;
- Other tasks as necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Have completed the EIDBI Level III provider training requirements;
- Have at least 1,000 hours of clinical experience in the evaluation and treatment of people with ASD or a related condition;
- Be certified in one of the other treatment modalities recognized by DHS (See EIDBI Manual – Treatment modalities);
- 18 Years or older;
- Providing intervention services in the comprehensive multi-disciplinary evaluation [CMDE] and identified in the person’s individual treatment plan;
- Participating in monitoring the person’s progress on goals and objectives and treatment outcomes;
- Be a Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst® (BCaBA®) from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board®, Inc. (BACB®);
- Receiving required clinical supervision and intervention observation and direction as identified in the person’s ITP;
- At minimum have afternoon availability, ideally between 3 PM – 7 PM, Monday – Friday;
- Must maintain highest standard of ethics;
- Psychology/Behavioral and Social Sciences;
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and a good driving record;
- Caregiver/Hospice/Respite Care Staff/CNA;
- Teacher/Teacher’s Aide/ParaprofessionalChildcare Professional/Babysitting/Social Services.
