Communications Associate Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Communications Associate to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement engaging content for social media;
- Ensure all landing pages are compelling with dynamic content for SEO and constituent experience;
- Provide wordpress blog and google site support for academic departments, student clubs, etc;
- Create resource boards and “group” pages within the website for students, parents, faculty and staff;
- Additional work as assigned;
- Take photos and video of activities in and outside of the classroom;
- Compile, proofread, copyedit, format all content for the weekly e-newsletter that gets sent to all parents and students;
- Send email blast “pushpages” as necessary;
- Analyze user behavior data and make content improvements based on metrics;
- Build the school schedule in google calendar;
- Maintain consistent communications, messaging, branding, etc., as appropriate, across all departments and programs;
- Copy writing including assisting in the development of internal and external correspondence, press releases and social media;
- Execute PFAW’s digital communications strategy including web and social media tools;
- Maintain existing models and strategies while developing new and cutting-edge ideas to keep PFAW current in this changing media marketplace;
- Regularly review and provide updates for PFAW’s website content as necessary.
Requirements:
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple, conflicting, and changing needs while still maximizing efficiency;
- Proficiency in HTML and CSS; experience with content management systems a plus;
- Ability to learn quickly;
- Demonstrated cultural competency and commitment to equity as it relates to digital media;
- Ability to work effectively with all constituencies within the school’s internal and external communities (faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni);
- Organized and detail oriented;
- Strong interpersonal skills—empathy, flexibility, and a sense of humor;
- Graphic design skills, including strong knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator;
- Minimum (0) zero to (5) five years of relevant experience in marketing management with proven success, however we offer paid training;
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or Journalism;
- Professional proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish;
- 2-5 years of relevant experience (internships can be counted towards this requirement);
- Superior written communications and storytelling skills;
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or communications, or related field;
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills, problem-solver, and high accountability.
