Our company is looking for a Communications Intern to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct various topic/policy research projects;
  • Take meeting notes, organize member data and collaborate on deliverables for high-profile, multifaceted consumer-member engagement program;
  • Assist with print and social media copy writing and editing as needed for publication utilized by co-op members across the country;
  • Draft communication materials including press releases, media memos, blog posts and social media content;
  • Monitor and compile international media clips related to ongoing policy work;
  • Maintain an editorial calendar for the communication team;
  • Provide administrative and research support as needed;
  • Work with the communications team to research, identify and contact key media contacts in priority countries.

Requirements:

  • Quick study with a keen attention to detail and a sense of urgency;
  • Strong interest in Public Relations, Public Affairs and/or International Relations;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including editing and proofing with a strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while juggling multiple projects and deadlines;
  • Collaborative and team-oriented;
  • Fundamental understanding of communications , tactics and channels;
  • Excellent organizational skills;

  • Minimum of eight (8) years experience in communications;
  • Exceptional , editing and oral communications with the ability to convey highly complex information in clear, compelling ways;
  • Excellent project management and organizational;
  • Motivated self-starter who performs without appreciable direction and works effectively under competing priorities and tight deadlines;
  • Working to complete a College degree in communications, media or related field required or recent graduate;
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, English, marketing or a related field;
