Operates CMM equipment to perform measurement, inspection, and testing of production materials and components using previously prepared inspection programs. Being a CMM Operator documents and reports non-conforming materials as required. Performs in-process or final inspections. In addition, CMM Operator reads and interprets blueprints and specifications. May require an associate’s degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Being a CMM Operator occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Working as a CMM Operator typically requires 2 -4 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a CMM Operator to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect manufacturing & assembly drawings;
- Create and document first sample reports according to VDA 2 or PPAP standards;
- Create programs and operate CMM equipment to inspect parts per engineering specifications;
- Determine quality (Pass/Fail) of manufactured parts based on dimensional and visual inspection;
- Recommend/design inspection fixtures or gages for production purposes;
- Complete and maintain detailed and accurate dimensional inspection reports and analysis of inspection data;
- Maintain safety and quality standards using acceptable housekeeping practices and 5s processes on equipment and work area;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Be responsible for the operation and upkeep of all the measuring equipment, including calibration;
- Administer the parts approval and release procedure;
- Performing detailed and complex dimensional measurements and inspections with a WENZEL 3D CMM machine using the QUARTIS software suite.
Requirements:
- Highly organized with a high level of integrity;
- Experience in the parts approval process and first article inspections;
- Working knowledge of VDA2 or PPAP standards;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Extremely reliable and very trustworthy;
- Fluent in GD&T iaw ASME Y14.5 and ISO 14405-1/2/3, ISO 1101 and ISO 8015 tolerancing specs;
- Reading & interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications;
- AS/BS engineering degree or equivalent work experience;
- Good time management & planning skills;
- Preference given for experience working with WM | Quartis Measuring Software and/or Wenzel CMM equipment;
- Previous work experience with a wide range of precision measuring equipment incl. CMM in a manufacturing environment;
- ISO/ATF training is a plus;
- Must know PC DEMIS software;
