Field Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Field Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with experienced field engineers on basic troubleshooting and service repair needs on designated equipment;
- Liase with wireline and operating company’s representatives in relation to specialty tractor services;
- Pre-job preparation of necessary equipment for specialty wireline tractor & application services;
- When not involved in offsite job activities, participate in facility based activities such as upgrading equipment, maintenance and equipment control;
- Assist in the preparation of project as-builts;
- Training and experience in multiple modalities;
- quoting/qualifying subcontractor requests for change order;
- maintaining project close-out documents;
- tracking status of change orders, tracking status of requests for information;
- Assist in preparation of bid packages and procurement;
- Maintain current drawing sets and specifications with archive history;
- Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders;
- Promote a positive and collaborative team environment;
- Report to the Technical Services Manager;
- Assist customers with using Entermedia and/or ResourceSpace Digital Asset Management.
Requirements:
- Identify and report any unsafe workplace conditions or unsafe acts to the EHS Organization;
- Demonstrated understanding that customers determine our success;
- Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and/or electronic equipment;
- Training and experience in multiple modalities;
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months of hire;
- Work with help desk ticketing system for problem tracking and resolution;
- Possesses CompTIA A+, Network+, Linux+ Certifications;
- Experience with UTA Projects;
- Minimum of an Associate degree in Civil or Mining Engineering;
- Works with customers, vendors, and carriers to schedule on-site activities surrounding all trouble, survey and installation work;
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering, MS preferred;
- Thorough understanding of electrical materials, means and construction methods;
- Ability to meet hectic and changing schedules and deadlines;
- Adherence to safe work practices;
- Experience with scheduling and planning of heavy construction work.
