Lead Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Lead Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Agreement Process Area—Acquisition and Supply;
- Triage anomalies and track/mitigate risks, as applicable;
- Working with LSE and/or ISE and the customer organizations on the development of short and long term acquisition strategies;
- Developing, documenting and/or analyzing operational and system architectures in standard frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, MoDAF, UAF);
- Execute trade studies and make design decisions across the program;
- Assist in program management tasks such as schedule development and tracking;
- Working with multiple organizations to develop formal validated mission and capability needs, and defining the requirements that meet these needs;
- Develop on-orbit operations plans and participate in on-orbit operations;
- Develop and manage key program documentation, such as requirements and verification artifacts, vehicle-level ICDs, and ConOps documents;
- Various analyses using Matlab/Python and STK.
Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Windows and MS Office, particularly Excel and Access;
- Ability to work with APIs;
- Experience in decommutation and analysis of test and telemetry data;
- System Test Support experience;
- Experience with alerting and monitoring systems (Collectd, Nagios, Graphite);
- Expertise with the ELK stack;
- A strong background with the Apache Hadoop Project (Zookeeper, Kafka, HDFS, Hive, Spark, Storm);
- Outstanding troubleshooting skills;
- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (BASH, Python, Perl);
- 7+ years working as a Systems Engineer/Administrator at a software company;
- Flight test and operations experience, with real-time operations and console experience preferred;
- Experience with M&Sapplications and integration of models and applications to perform morecomprehensive simulations;
- Proven ability to work independentlyto learn new technologies, techniques, processes, software languages, platformsand systems;
- System Engineering oversight;
- Deep knowledge in Linux (CentOS or Ubuntu).
