Oracle Database Administrator administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company’s Oracle database. Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves Oracle database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. Being an Oracle Database Administrator may require a bachelor’s degree in a related area or in a related area. Typically reports to a manager. To be an Oracle Database Administrator typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.

Our company is looking for a Oracle Database Administrator to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oracle RAC implementation;
  • Schedules and coordinates database maintenance activities;
  • As TPoC, perform M&O functions on legacy 11g and 12c databases assigned to them;
  • Oracle Golden Gate;
  • Assist in the development of Oracle automation pipelines;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database recovery solutions;
  • Serves as a consultant on technological advancements. Provides oversight, mentoring and leadership to less experienced staff;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database security and audit solutions;
  • Execute data recovery;
  • Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain database objects;
  • Provide Advise to business and technical personnel on data analysis principles, methods and trends;
  • Design database environments and create databases;
  • May represent the organization as an external spokesperson;
  • Engages in technical problem solving across multiple technologies; often needs to develop new methods to apply to the situation;
  • Participate in production 24×7 on call support.

Requirements:

  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Jenkins) & container technologies (Docker, CoreOS) is a plus;
  • Creates and maintains Oracle databases according to local processes and best practices;
  • Bachelor s degree in an IT related field and 3 years of experience or 5 years of experience in a related field;
  • Extensive ASM knowledge;
  • Strong SQL programming, preferably Oracle with the ability to write complex SQL queries;
  • Experience with administration of Databases on AWS Cloud using RDS and/or EC2 is a MUST;
  • Oracle Relational Database Management;
  • Experience with Oracle Wallets;
  • Communicates effectively with customers and colleagues;
  • Experience in CIS/DISA STIG processes and procedures for Oracle databases;
  • Experience supporting internet/web based database applications with heavy concurrent user volume;
  • Experience with Informatica MDM;
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, networking, firewalls, and Load Balancers;
  • 3+ years of experience with Oracle Application Server (OHS) with configuring, installation, upgrading, and troubleshooting;
  • 5 years experience Exadata systems.
