Propulsion Design Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Propulsion Design Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Assembly of first article prototypes;
- Collaborating with team members to write, review, and update work instructions for assembly of engine components;
- Clean sheet design of valves, pumps, sensors, actuators, and other engine components;
- Design modification of existing components and prototypes to improve performance or resolve limitations;
- Structural and Thermal analysis of assemblies and components using simplified as well as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques;
- Coordinating with outside vendors to procure parts and components.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of and hands-on experience with fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems;
- Experience with GD&T per ASME Y14.5;
- Desire to take ownership and help wherever needed on the team;
- Willingness to own component or subsystem specification, prototyping, testing, integration, and troubleshooting;
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s is a plus);
- Demonstrated proficiency with Computer Aided Design and Drawings using PTC Creo or similar;
- Experience with structural/thermal analysis using FEA software.
