Scrum Master Job Description

Scrum Master coordinates an agile development team, ensures all activities use the principles of the Scrum Framework. Takes a servant leader approach to help the team self-organize and adopt an attitude of continuous improvement. Being a Scrum Master actively identifies and removes impediments in order to ensure that assigned sprints and projects are completed on time. Tracks and reports daily schedules. Additionally, Scrum Master requires a bachelor’s degree. Typically reports to a director. Typically requires ScrumMaster Certification (CSM). The Scrum Master gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. To be a Scrum Master typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

Our company is looking for a Scrum Master to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Organize effective core teams and build necessary collaborations with business stakeholders, operations and implementation teams;
  • Process evangelist – Coach team members using Agile Principles to help team mature in agile process;
  • Utilize appropriate tools, metrics and techniques to successfully guide the team s progress against the Sprint Plan;
  • Demonstrate the ability to conduct agile ceremonies including daily scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives;
  • Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment;
  • Alert and involve appropriate management, when necessary;
  • Ability to shield his team from outside distractions and interferences;
  • Manage effective cross-team management of program, value-stream and team objectives;
  • Guide and coach Scrum teams on how to best use Agile/Scrum practices and values to deliver high-quality software;
  • Create Agile communication plan;
  • Use iteration management to deliver demoable results every sprint;
  • Collaborate with user communities and project teams for seamless QA activities including UAT;
  • Building a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised with an emphasis on consistently improving and problem-solving;
  • Ability to ensure the correct use of scrum process;
  • Manage, publish, and communicate information radiators and relevant metrics to the team on progress against team objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Technical field;
  • Certified Scrum Master;
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience;
  • 15 years of experience or equivalent;
  • Experience interfacing to a distributed group of cross functional teams;
  • 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master – following best practices (Kanban, Scrum);
  • 2+years of experience working in an IT-related field (Insurance/Financial industry preferred, but not required);
  • Proficient in problem-solving and conceptual skills to recommend approaches and methods;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT Field of study;
  • Experience working on Data Analytics projects in an Agile environment;
  • Open to Travel;
  • Experience with Agile tracking and development tools;
  • Experience facilitating briefings senior leadership;
  • ScrumMaster Certification preferred;
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner ACP (Desired).
