Our company is looking for a SQL Server DBA to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement;
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end;
  • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations;
  • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems;
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours;
  • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members;
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes;
  • Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems;
  • Monitoring and tuning all SQL databases to ensure availability.

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Present technical solutions to management and decision makers;
  • Listen carefully and act upon user requirements;
  • Experience supporting mission critical production systems is required;
  • Strong knowledge in project management practices and ability to document processes and procedures as needed;
  • Tracking, monitoring, and reporting database jobs and processes using various software products;
  • Complete work within a reasonable time frame under the supervision of a manager or team lead;
  • Candidate must have a 4 year degree (or equivalent experience);
  • Keep abreast of industry and technology trends;
  • Translate a logical data model or user specifications into a physical design;
  • Communicate the required downtime with the application development teams and systems engineers to implement approved changes;
  • Ensure detailed physical design of data structures and database complies with enterprise standards, guidelines, procedures, and processes;
  • Assist in the consultation to application development teams on Microsoft SQL Server technical issues and techniques;
  • Coordinate with systems engineers to configure servers for Microsoft SQL Server installation and database creation;
  • 8 years of Microsoft SQL Server DBA Experience.
