Our company is looking for a Sr. SQL DBA to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve complex customer issues, escalating to other departments as identified;
  • Develop system specifications, technical documentation, requirements, KB Articles;
  • Prioritize workload and resolution to meet service level agreements;
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time;
  • Work on complex projects either independently or as part of a team;
  • Provides training and mentors junior staff members;
  • Tracks and recognizes knowledge opportunities; recommends and perform additional training as needed;
  • Work with internal and external customers on resolving complex SQL Server and related feature issues to ensure optimal system performance;
  • Monitor and analyze performance of complex system components and make recommendations;
  • Work closely with development and conversion teams on issue resolution and process improvement;
  • Participates in identifying and recommending complex technology solutions for clients;
  • Formulates guidance and training of policies, procedures and standards relating to database management for both internal and client staff.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory;
  • Ability to organize and plan work independently;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication;
  • Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams;
  • 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience required;
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment;
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server;
  • Experience with Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools;
  • Must be a US citizen and be eligible for a Public Trust clearance;
  • Experience with backups, restores and recovery models;
  • Flexible, team player, “get-it-done” personality;
  • MCTS, MCITP, and/or MVP certifications a plus;
  • Available for occasional escalations after hours.
