Our company is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Able to resolve and negotiate requirement conflicts in order to establish a complete and consistent requirement set for the system;
  • Identifying, documenting, and communicating significant certification risks for timely review and resolution;
  • Ensuring all aircraft certification requirements are met resulting in successful STC issuance;
  • Assesses the impact of changes to requirements on the solution and program;
  • Work closely with the project manager on assigned projects to ensure project performance in regards to cost, schedule, and quality;
  • Proven domain knowledge and knowledge of products, systems, industry best practices, and applicable regulatory requirements on assigned projects;
  • Evaluate, analyze, and document all explicit and implicit system operational concepts through interaction with all stakeholders on assigned projects;
  • Identifies areas of uncertainty and risk when determining requirements;
  • Identify and evaluate risks and opportunities on all assigned projects and work with the project manager to develop risk mitigation strategies;
  • Plan and develop engineering management plan for assigned projects, including engineering schedules, budget plans, and staffing plans;
  • Perform engineering trade studies on new technologies or new solutions;
  • Follow all Collins Aerospace ISO, CMMI, and engineering policies and procedures in performing day-to-day activities on assigned projects;
  • Support the research proposal process through generation of technical documents, schedules, and costs;
  • Present technical data and schedule to external customers;
  • Work with suppliers to develop new technologies and scaled manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Interact with internal and external customers;
  • Significant contributor to the design of complex products/systems;
  • Five (5) or more years of experience managing system requirements or technical project management;
  • Ability to influence, inspire, and motivate all project team members;
  • Solid knowledge of appropriate WISE/SAP applications such as BOM, Item Master, NCR, Warranty, EC screens and part tracking;
  • Experience with scheduling tools, such as MS Project or Primavera;
  • Desired experience within the Rail industry;
  • Experience with network analyzers and electromagnetic measurements of materials;
  • Experience with formal project management and Earned Value systems;
  • Demonstrated experience architecting complex, cross functional or cross competence (mechanical, SW, Electronics, controls) systems or subsystems;
  • DC system and battery experience;
  • Familiarity with electrical design;
  • Experience with process/new methods application;
  • Experience ensuring program quality is maintained for individual/other team member contributions;
  • Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.
