Carpenter Apprentice Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Carpenter Apprentice to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Positioning and holding timbers, lumber, or paneling in place for fastening or cutting;
- Holding plumb bobs, sighting rods, or other equipment to aid in establishing reference points and lines;
- Erecting scaffolding, ladders for assembling structures above ground levels;
- MUST have reliable transportation (car or truck);
- MUST have tools of the trade;
- MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hour work week;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- Material handling for carpenters;
- Learn to read blueprints, architectural drawings and construction layouts;
- Maintain a clean construction area;
- Retrieve tools for other carpenters;
- Erect scaffolding, shoring, or braces;
- Assist carpenters with layout;
- Understand and use of basic hand and power tools;
- Drill holes in timbers or lumber.
Requirements:
- Drug free at all times;
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman Carpenter;
- 3 years of experience as a Apprentice Carpenter;
- Lift and/or pull 50lbs.,

- Basic tools / PPE;
- Experience working with equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts is a plus;
- 3 years of experience in carpentry;
- Supply personal tools;
- Must be able to pass a background check;
- Eagerness and willingness;
- Has their own basic hand tools and power tools;
- Experience working with hand tools and power tools;
- Ability to read blueprints.
