Plumber Apprentice Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Plumber Apprentice to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Learning to comprehend schematic diagrams, blueprints and other specifications required by our client;
- Cutting or drilling holes in walls or floors to accommodate the passage of pipes;
- Performing rough-ins, repairing and replacing fixtures and water heaters, and locating, repairing, or removing leaking or broken pipes;
- MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hour work week;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- MUST have tools of the trade;
- MUST have reliable transportation (car or truck);
- Requisition tools, equipment, plumbing supplies for each project, transport to work site;
- Direct workers engaged in pipe cutting and preassembly and installation of plumbing systems and components;
- Prepare written work cost estimates;
- Other duties as assigned;
- Motivated work ethic;
- Measure, cut, thread and assemble new pipe per project plans;
- Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
- Cut or drill holes in walls or floors, install hanging systems to accommodate the passage and support of pipes.
Requirements:
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman Plumber;
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
- Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment;
- Drug free at all times;
- Customer service skills – it is important for plumber helpers to make adequate repairs and gain the confidence and loyalty of customers;
- Mechanical skills – plumber helpers should have strong knowledge of plumbing tools and an understanding of how basic plumbing systems work;
- Analytical skills – interpreting schematics and drawings for new plumbing system installations is beneficial for plumber helpers;
- Troubleshooting – the ability to detect the causes of leaks and clogs calls for strong troubleshooting skills.
