HVAC Apprentice Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a HVAC Apprentice to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Cutting and threading pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and pipe-threading machine;
- Cutting, bending, fabriating, and installing sheet metal duct;
- Studying building plans and working drawings to determine work aids required and sequence of installations;
- Connecting motors to control panels and balancing motors to insure efficient operation and connecting control panels to power source;
- Assisting in servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensuring customer satisfaction;
- Maintaining stock of inventory, company equipment, and documents all service-related activities;
- Determining parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need;
- Identifying, analyzing and repairing equipment, instruments and products at a customer’s location;
- Delivering parts to job sites, as necessary;
- Using a variety of hand and power tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, to mount, assemble, troubleshoot and repair units.
Requirements:
- High standard of integrity and professionalism;
- Eagerness and willingness to learn and receive instruction/direction from qualified Journeyman HVAC Technician;
- Strong working knowledge of job site safety as well as ability to complete a company specific safety orientation;
- Drug free at all times;
- Commitment to working safely;
- Must be experienced in fabrication and installation of sheet metal duct;
- Basic hand tools;
- OSHA10 certification (If you don’t have it, we will provide it for you.);
- MUST have tools of the trade;
- MUST be able to work a minimum of 40 hour work week;
- Must have a valid driver’s license;
- MUST have reliable transportation (car or truck);
- MUST have a “valid” Massachusetts Apprentice Card;
- 2 years of experince;
- Must have 2+ years of experience.
