Distribution Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Distribution Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with other departments within the distribution center to solve merchandise processing issues;
- Follow facility quality guidelines and set standards;
- Ensure accurate and rapid movement and processing of merchandise;
- Provide a clean and safe work environment and maintain equipment inventory;
- Must be willing to work in all areas of the department;
- Assist with monitoring, tracking metrics, and reporting the performance of employees to measure departmental efficiency;
- Train, inspire, and motivate team to achieve desired results in productivity, teamwork, quality, safety, and job knowledge;
- Track information accurately to facilitate flow of merchandise in an expedite manner;
- Special projects as needed and any additional duties assigned by management team;
- Prepares, reviews, and maintains reports, statistics, and records as measured by department reports;
- Run Routes as needed to cover Vacation Sick or Holiday time off;
- Maintain Branch locations;
- Enforce drivers to work within safety guidelines as measured by the department handbook, Shamrock policies and DOT regulations;
- Driver evaluations;
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong organization skills, multi-tasking, and ability to prioritize departmental tasks;
- Maintain a professional, positive, and friendly attitude at all times;
- Frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds or more;
- Frequent use of ladders and/or lift equipment;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with others and have good work ethics;
- Minimum one year experience in a “hands-on” leadership role working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment;
- High School or Equivalent required;
- Experience in the use of warehouse technology equipment and tools (radio-frequency scanners);
- Must be goal-oriented and task driven;
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for grasping, reaching, pulling, and pushing;
- Commitment to excellence and excellent attention to detail;
- Demonstrated ability to provide the highest standard of customer service;
- Must have good listening skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills;
- Computer literate and working knowledge of Microsoft Office in Word, Excel, Outlook;
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, encourage, and lead team members.
