Electrical Inspector Job Description

Electrical inspectors examine the installed electrical systems to ensure they function properly and comply with electrical codes and standards. The inspectors visit worksites to inspect new and existing sound and security systems, wiring, lighting, motors, photovoltaic systems, and generating equipment. They also inspect the installed electrical wiring for HVACR systems and appliances.

Our company is looking for a Electrical Inspector to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct contact with client electricians and familiarity with electrical codes;
  • Provide interface with third party QA check testing activities, and relay findings to the Contractor;
  • Ensure compliance with the specifications, drawings, and standards;
  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning;
  • Monitor project for cleanliness;
  • Tracks quality assurance progress;
  • Provides on the job training to new employees;
  • Provide technical expertise of the products/materials being installed in the project;
  • Provide daily site photos to be saved electronically at a designated location on the Client’s network;
  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers;
  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records;
  • Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
  • Monitor and inspect the GC for compliance with current safety regulations, standards, project safety plan and report any non-compliance to the Client;
  • Immediately notify the Client when any life threatening conditions are observed, and provide assistance as necessary to remedy such situations;
  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

Requirements:

  • Government or military project experience;
  • Experience with Prolog Construction Management software is preferred;
  • Must have experience with government construction or over 10 years of experience in lieu of educational requirement;
  • Must have ACTIVE TOP SECRET CLEARANCE;
  • Bachelors’ degree in Construction Management or Engineering of related industry is preferred but not required;
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification preferred;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
