Lead Carpenter Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Lead Carpenter to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Employee must be able to complete and submit all necessary correspondence for work that is completed;
- Knowledge of carpentry and building materials;
- Provide general supervision and perform skilled work involving rough and finished carpentry;
- drywall work, light plumbing, light electrical, tile work, siding, trim, and ladder work;
- Perform skilled work involving rough and finished carpentry;
- Assigning and explaining tasks to the project crew;
- Providing subcontractor coordination;
- Communicating with clients in order to determine the time frames in which projects should be completed;
- Supervising company project crew;
- Performing all phases of carpentry, framing, trim and finish work;
- Lead and implement all projects assigned to stay within the production schedule and estimated allowances;
- Troubleshoot or problem solve various aspects of detail or issues that may arise during the process and progress of remodel projects;
- Competently give directions and instructions as needed to carpenters or trade partners on the job site;
- Perform general labor including cleaning, materials handling and debris removal;
- Supervise other employees performing skilled work involving rough and finished carpentry.

- Good ability to understand technical documents and drawings and follow safety and other guidelines;
- Minimum 21 years of age;
- Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools;
- Ability to manage other employees;
- Knowledge of carpentry and building materials;
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
