Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Annual certification in the Handle With Care behavior management system;
- Assist with staff development and activities;
- Ensure early diagnosis and evaluation; medication management and supervision of treatment in collaboration with other multidisciplinary staff;
- Flexible, full-time schedule; between 32-40 hours/ week;
- Additional responsibilities as by the Program Director, Assistant Program Director and/or Agency Medical Director;
- Provide consultation and education to treatment staff regarding medication use as part of the treatment regimen;
- Ability to build rapport and establish a strong working clinical relationship with client;
- Complete initial and ongoing evaluations of clients to determine medication and treatment needs;
- Prescribe and monitor medications;
- Complete psychiatric evaluations and medication management;
- Maintain timely and accurate paperwork, including Medi-Cal documentation;
- Provide 100% outpatient clinical services;
- Work on a clinical team of psychiatrists, and licensed psychologists and clinicians.
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience preferred;
- The psychiatrist shall be a physician licensed by the state of New Jersey;
- Must be a board certified psychiatrist;
- BC/ BE in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry;
- Should be involved in continuing education activities to further his/her own professional development;
- Successful record of clinical and service excellence, research experience, and interest in graduate medical education;
- Board certified or board eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry;
- Proof of liability insurance;
- Board eligibility or certification in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry;
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN);
- MD/DO degree;
- Fellowship training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry;
- Active California Medical License, Current and Valid DEA Certificate;
- Successful completion of a fellowship in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry;
- Valid California driver’s license and insurability through Seneca’s automobile policy.
