Our company is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the dentist in managing dental emergencies;
  • Taking and recording medical and dental histories and patient vital signs;
  • Improving your clinical skills and acumen through participation in continuing education and training opportunities offered by Heartland Dental;
  • Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures;
  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures;
  • Instructing patients on dental hygiene and proper care of dental fixtures;
  • Make patients feel comfortable and give them a “WOW” experience;
  • To be able to take high quality dental radiographs;
  • Assisting with Periodontal procedures in the office setting;
  • Obtains and record medical history of patient. Charts examinations and treatments plans;
  • Dental Implant Knowledge;
  • Knowledge to efficiently set up and tear down operatory rooms,
  • Manage lab cases and dental supply inventory (including ordering supplies),
  • Mixes restorative materials as required;
  • Other duties as assigned Desired Background.

Requirements:

  • High attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills;
  • Degree from school accredited by Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) and American Dental Association;
  • assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures;
  • Legible handwriting for notations in patient chart;
  • Able to handle a fast paced environment;
  • What makes you uniquely qualified for this position;
  • Dental Assistant certification as required by state;
  • Must be a graduate from a formal dental assistant program with a curriculum of a minimum of three (3) months in length;
  • Four-handed dentistry a plus;
  • Must be able to make temporaries, take impressions, and x-rays;
  • Team oriented person who loves taking care of patients as much as we do;
  • EFDA State Certification – preferred;
  • Review status of inmates/residents for completion of all necessary intervention and treatments and services;
  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality;
  • Strong computer and internet skills.
