The Family Medicine Physician ensures proper injury care and disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. Examines and treats members of family, regardless of age or sex. Being a Family Medicine Physician requests necessary tests and follow-up visits and refers patients to specialists, as necessary. Prescribes and administers medications, performs routine vaccinations, and provides advice regarding personal health and hygiene. In addition, Family Medicine Physician requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice. May report to a medical director. Family Medicine Physician’s years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position’s specialty is the main requirement.

Our company is looking for a Family Medicine Physician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Meeting attendance at monthly General Staff Meeting and Monthly Departmental Clinician Meeting;
- Will refer to support services (when appropriate) for counseling and education;
- Interact with and maintain referral resources;
- Review laboratory, x-ray and referral documents prior to filing;
- Provides assistance in coordinating and reviewing referrals;
- Refer to approved medical protocols and/or guidelines for treatment;
- Efficient productivity levels according to health center standards;
- Medical records;
- Participate in CQI: Quality Improvement Meetings and discussions as requested;
- Prepare, supervise, and implement treatment plans. Review developed plans;
- Provide supervision to health center Mid-level practitioners, including consultations and review of charts;
- Record/dictate, in timely fashion, notes for each patient visit using SOAP format;
- Function as day-to-day clinical leader, providing decision support to nurse practitioners and directing the multidisciplinary team;
- In situations where there is no existing PCP for the patient, assume responsibility as PCP to drive care and continuity for patients;
- Perform urgent care visits in the home to avoid unnecessary ED transfers and hospital admissions.
Requirements:
- Current California DEA certificate required to start;
- Board certification is desired but not required;
- NJ licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ;
- No health status contraindications to granting clinical privileges;
- Completion of a residency program in the specialty approved by the American specialty board or AOA, board certification, or board eligible;
- New and experienced Family Medicine Physicians are encouraged to apply;
- General outpatient practice;
- Call: Assigned 1/2 day coverage every week and regional call 2x/year (Phone call only); No night call;
- Board Certified/Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine;
- Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine;
- Licensed or ability to obtain licensure through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice;
- Basic Life Support (BLS);
- valid VA medical license;
- Ability to obtain and /or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota;
