Our company is looking for a Physician Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides in-service and daily consultation to nursing staff;
  • Assists with the management of emergency patient treatments;
  • Administers or orders medication as requested by supervising physician;
  • Manages emergency situations in the center;
  • Provides medical management for complications related to abortion and sterilization;
  • Develop treatment plans based on scientific rationale, standards of care, and professional practice guidelines;
  • Counsels and instructs patients and their families;
  • Responsible to prescribe medication(s) and monitor side-effects of medication and adverse reactions;
  • Responsible to analyze, interpret data, formulate diagnoses and problem lists, and establish plans for the management of adult health problems;
  • Communicating with patients and families;
  • Identify and provide teaching for patients, families, and other health care providers;
  • If the need arises, may be asked to cover other Neurosurgery practices within the HHC System;
  • Responsible to counsel patients on medical problems, use of medications, expected effects of treatment, diet, and other health maintenance matters.

Requirements:

  • Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant;
  • licensed as a Physician Assistant;
  • Two years experience in Emergency Medicine;
  • Must successfully complete systems training requirements;
  • Current PA licenses, ACLS, PALS, BLS are required;
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Master’s program;
  • First assistant experience, including endoscopic vein harvesting skills preferred;
  • Auditing ATLS skills desirable;
  • Demonstrated skill in planning and organizing work, managing time, and meeting commitments;
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required;
  • Demonstrated very high level of communication skills to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;
  • A license without restriction to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania;
  • Minimum 3 year experience, preferably at an FQHC;
  • Surgical and Trauma training;
  • 2+ years’ experience in cardiovascular surgery preferred but not required.
