Radiology Technologist PRN Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Radiology Technologist PRN to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and administers contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations;
- Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted;
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines. Prevents patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation;
- Demonstrates concern and empathy while performing procedures in a careful, compassionate and respectful manner;
- Prepares and positions patients and equipment is a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Ensures prompt submission of high-quality of all images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history);
- Collaborates and confers with all colleagues and members of the healthcare team;
- Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately;
- Performs a variety of procedures/studies in accordance with established operating procedures and routines accurately and in a timely manner;
- Assists in administration of contrast media in accordance with departmental policy and procedure;
- Obtains high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images;
- Prepares and positions patients for imaging and selects exposure factors accurately;
- Explains procedures to patient to ensure understanding. Provides appropriate educational material.
Requirements:
- Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment;
- Current Certification in Basic Life Support from AHA;
- Current state licensure or permit to practice medical imagining;
- ARRT Certification;
- Customer service abilities including effective listening skills;
- Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers.
