Surgical Scrub Technician Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Surgical Scrub Technician to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays;
- Confirms that instruments and equipment work properly;
- Maintains surgeons’ preference cards;
- Assists in storing and stocking supplies as directed;
- Assists in maintaining adequate supplies in the operating room for immediate access during procedure;
- Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide appropriate availability and safety;
- Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedures;
- Reports observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and takes action according to policy;
- Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure;
- Correctly uses, cares for, cleans, and sterilizes instruments, supplies, and equipment per manufacturer’s instructions;
- Assembles supplies and equipment for scheduled procedures according to physicians’ preference cards;
- Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician;
- Arranges instruments according to given procedure.
Requirements:
- Preferred Completion of surgical scrub technician course;
- BLS certification;
- Visual and auditory acuity for timely responsiveness and patient-care assessment activities;
- Ability to move quickly in response to patient needs;
- Timeliness;
- Punctual;
- Little supervision needed to accomplish tasks;
- ASC experience;
- Physical strength for equipment needs and patient-care activities;
- Capability for occasional overhead and low reaching;
- High school diploma or GED certificate;
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Accuracy;
- Surgical scrub technician experience;
- Ability to follow instructions.
