Associate Chemist Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Associate Chemist to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Perform sample preparations and analysis/testing for crop science samples;
- Work with standard wet chemistry equipment such as analytical balance, pH, pipettes;
- Follow SOPs;
- Gravimetric methods such as oven drying/weighing;
- Run moisture methods, weigh samples, dry in oven, weigh again;
- Utilize LIMS;
- Some groups use HPLC, GC, UV-vis;
- Run a battery of tests for identification;
- Meet production requirements with respect to yield, time and quality.
Requirements:
- Flexibility and interest in working overtime is key;
- 0-2 years of experience;
- Maintain high attention to detail while performing high productivity work;
- Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent lab experience;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- BS in Chemistry with 0-2 years of related experience;
- Demonstrated aptitude and interest in organic synthesis;
- Methodical lab technique and an eagerness to learn;
- Multitasking;
- Deployed experience in Analytical/Operational environment;
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Can work independently with minimum supervision;
- 2nd shift – Monday-Friday 2pm-10:30pm.
