Our company is looking for a Environmental Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluating results and making recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies;
- Planning, designing and directing programs to solve problems concerned with hazardous material;
- Maintaining a written ESOH plan that will address the approach to complying with ISO 14001:2004 and OSHA’s 18001:2007;
- Managing the on-site and off-site hazardous material activities including development and oversight of programs;
- Maintaining the Spill Plan and providing all training and reporting in accordance with the plan;
- Conducting ESOH training with Contractor employees;
- Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists;
- Knowledge of the budget processes, procedures, and requirements concerning formulation, justification, and execution of program budgets;
- Working understanding of policies and procedures for HSSE, including client-specific training (as required);
- Works under general supervision;
- Create material requisitions and, if necessary, review quotations for compliance with technical specifications;
- Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc;
- Participate in regular project meetings;
- Prepare environmental permitting and reporting, conduct and or lead field work and manage existing and or new projects;
- Collaborate and coordinate with project team to determine and achieve project objectives.
Requirements:
- Must have an active TS security clearance, with an active TS/SCI clearance preferred;
- Must have working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite;
- 4 years minimum of position-related experience;
- Must be a US Citizen;
- Must be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the environmental and safety compliance fields;
- B.S. Degree in Environmental Studies, Biology or Chemistry is desired;
- Knowledge of the budget processes, procedures, and requirements concerning formulation, justification, and execution of program budgets;
- Familiar with EHS program administration, incident investigation, risk management and/or State / Federal regulatory compliance.
