Admissions Counselor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Admissions Counselor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to prospective patients and referral channels by providing psychological assessments and/or appropriate treatment options;
- Providing crisis intervention to prospective patients, their families, and external agencies via telephone and/or in person;
- Admissions screening and assessments;
- Conduct on- and off-campus interviews with prospective students and applicants;
- Must be willing to work occasionally on nights and weekends;
- Consulting with Director of Admissions and other Clinical and Medical Staff;
- Represent the College during high school visits and college fair programs;
- Participate as a team member in all aspects of the recruitment, selection and enrollment of first-year students in a goal-oriented setting;
- Serve as primary contact for all applicants and counselors within the assigned territory;
- Achieve territory enrollment goals and contribute to overall team goals;
- Review and evaluation of applications for admission;
- Provide consistent follow-up with students and parents via phone, email, and text;
- Monitor progress toward targets for the territory through use of Salesforce CRM, dashboards, and other data;
- Build and reinforce Franciscan University’s image to the public;
- Build and maintain relationships with faculty and staff in support of recruitment efforts.
Requirements:
- Database experience (AACOMAS, Banner, or related preferred); Over 2 years, up to 3 Years;
- Customer service experience, Over 2 years, up to 3 Years;
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Employment or volunteer experience in a college admissions office will be considered;
- Ability to learn Ellucian Banner and Slate CRM software;
- Valid driver’s license;
- This position requires work outside of traditional business hours including evenings and weekends throughout the year;
- Ability to lift, load and transport admissions materials, displays, and other equipment up to 35 pounds;
- Project a professional image of the College;
- Demonstrate strong writing, oral communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds;
- Commit to understanding and supporting Earlham’s historic Quaker influence and supporting principles and practices;
- Ability to enthusiastically promote the value of an Earlham liberal arts education to students, their families, and centers of influence;
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
