Our company is looking for a Assistant Director of Financial Aid to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures timely and efficient delivery of services; oversees quality control, compliance and system integrity for the unit;
- Develop financial aid packages. Authorize disbursements of funds to students;
- Processing Title IV funds through Powerfaids and EDConnect;
- Assist the Director in preparing the schedule of activities and maintain and operation calendar for the unit;
- Acts as the liaison between Scholarships and Financial Aid and related internal departments and external entities;
- Performs other related duties as assigned;
- Counsel’s students, prospective students and their families regarding services provided;
- Assist the Director in publishing sound financial aid policy and procedures in keeping with institutional goals, objectives and philosophy;
- Participants in the reconciliation process of all Federal and State programs;
- Answer day-to-day correspondence and requests for financial aid information on timely basis;
- Complete and disseminate accurate and timely reports. Submit federal, state and annual reports promptly.
Requirements:
- Team player;
- Experience coordinating federal or state financial aid programs;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or in lieu of degree, 8+ years of relevant experience;
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and technical requirements;
- Experience working with a diverse population of students, staff and faculty;
- Strong oral and written communication skills;
- Possess presentation skills to effectively promote and represent the college;
- Experience working collaboratively as part of a team and on an organization wide basis;
- Master’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience;
- Familiarity with D2L, ISRS, Hobsons;
- Professional experience in financial aid;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of college student development and various learning styles;
- Experience in counseling, career or academic advising;
- Experience creating data queries using Access.
