Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vendors/subcontractors are manufacturing products according to product specifications;
  • Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space;
  • Assist in the assessment of vendors/ subcontractors for consideration;
  • Ensures the quality of product meets all specifications;
  • Provides collaborative, supportive yet challenging leadership to the Technical Group personnel;
  • Manage annual goals / objectives, performs Personal Development Reviews (PDR) on direct reports, fostering individual growth and development;
  • Work closely with research and development, quality assurance to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures;
  • Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies;

  • Runs continuous improvement plans/projects to KPIs such as yield, set up times, FTR, MTBF;
  • Responsible for the attainment of the plant budget as it relates to the technical group expenses;
  • Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel;
  • Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending;
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures;
  • Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit.

Requirements:

  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts;
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and prioritize;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written;
  • Excellent Computer Skills;
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or technical field with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering;
  • Knowledge of fundamental design practices including: problem definition, concept selection, proof of concept, and implementation;
  • MRO/Repair experience;
  • Prefer experience with chemical manufacturing;
  • Bachelor’s degree (BSME, or BSChE from four-year college or university, MS/MBA preferred.);
  • Experience as a team leader;
  • Manufacturing or automation degree;
  • Technical background, specifically process engineering;
  • Minimum 7-10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 3 years in a supervisory position;
  • Requires strong project management and team building skills, and ability to establish priorities and work direction;
  • Must be a US Person including green card holders.
