Network Controller Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Network Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, test, install, troubleshoot, and maintain network devices including MSPP, Promina, ATM, and Optical;
- Identify and document network errors and solutions;
- Conduct network and telecommunications system incident investigation;
- Analyze network and telecommunications alarms and identify potential issues.
Requirements:
- MEF 3.0 Certification or other advanced certification(s);
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong skill set with Microsoft Office software applications;
- Experience with database modeling software such as MetaSolv;
- Minimum 6 years of network engineering experience with WAN Telecommunications networks;
- Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with WAN Telecommunications networks;
- Knowledge of IP technologies such as Pseudowire, and Ethernet switching;
- Expertise in remote maintenance and repair of the following network equipment- Cisco, Sycamore, and APC;
- Minimum of 3 years Networking technologies experience with RF, Sonet and Time Division Multiplexing;
- Ability to plan, design, and implement wide-area enterprise networks utilizing both Ethernet and TDM;
- Support need physical layer, data link, and network layer knowledge;
- CCNA certification;
- High School Diploma and 3+ yrs of relevant technical discipline; additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree;
- Experience with one or more of the following: alarm surveillance, fault management, LAN maintenance, performance management.
