Production Controller Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Production Controller to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on company objectives, production strategies and support activities;
- Review job orders and accordingly establish priorities and schedules;
- Assist in processing customer orders and shipments according to the established schedule;
- Coordinate with Manager in resolving production planning and control issues;
- Coordinate with Logistics to develop inventory control techniques to avoid shortages and excesses;
- Work with Manager to prepare job order documents and give timely approvals;
- Assist in production activity control to meet business and financial objectives;
- Review production plans to identify and report potential risks to Manager;
- Work with cross-functional teams to complete job orders on-time and within customer specifications;
- Plan and monitor material movement in production cycles to ensure continuous operations;
- Develop dynamic planning of activities across multi-functional teams and work stations to ensure optimal sequence of work;
- Communicate production updates to Managers and customers on regular basis;
- Assist Operations Leaders in controlling production costs while maintaining the quality standards;
- Plan equipment, material and manpower needs for job order;
- Monitor execution of job orders and adjust schedules for timely delivery.
Requirements:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of tools and equipment including hydraulic lifts and arms;
- Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings;
- Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves;
- Ability to keep good relationship with all Internal / External Customers;
- Lifting: able to occasionally lift up to 30lbs/14kg;
- Able to work outside hangers in changing locations. Able to work on movable lifts at the aircraft at a height of approximately 40 ft;
- Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time delivering information;
- Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals;
- Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas and on shop floor;
- Travel/Mobility: able to travel overseas and domestically sometimes for extended periods of time and on short notice.
