Responsibilities:
- Drive targeted market, country and account opportunity prioritization with geographic field sales and operations leaders;
- Lead tactical and strategic projects, collaborate with key stakeholders and achieve alignment on market assessments and competitive landscape;
- Provide strategic advisory and develop deep research and subject matter expertise to support two of VMware’s largest, high growth business units;
- Develop market evolution hypotheses, anticipate competitive dynamics, and evaluate business impact to VMware;
- Forge relationships with industry analysts to ascertain relevant research, scope custom projects, and build RFPs;
- Collecting and analyzing competitor cost/price data to support bottom-up PTW analysis;
- Leading Black Hat exercises for large, strategic opportunity pursuits;
- Utilizing tools of the trade to deliver competitive analysis in support of bid specific PTW and capture efforts;
- Collecting and analyzing data on government customer budgets, spending, and industry benchmarks to support top-down PTW analysis;
- Profiling competitor management and technical approaches/solutions and assessing relative strengths and weaknesses in the context of a specific bid;
- Producing compelling deliverables to brief executives and capture teams;
- Preparing materials to support / facilitate Black Hat reviews.
Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Precision PowerPoint development required, with high attention to detail and format;
- Deep knowledge in either networking and security (SDN, NFV, SD-WAN, ADC) or cloud management (IT ops analytics, CMP etc.);
- Clear understanding of evolving IT market landscape, including public vs private cloud, SaaS, virtualization, containers, and AI / ML;
- MBA or equivalent preferred.
