Development Writer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Development Writer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Attending university philanthropy-related events as appropriate;
- Reviewing and editing development communications in support of campus partners;
- Identifying, helping script, and coordinating with speakers deliver the message of philanthropic need and impact at events.
Requirements:
- Translates complex medical information into understandable and engaging donor proposals;
- Becomes proficient in Salesforce, InDesign and Ovrture;
- Hones their skills as a persuasive writer and adopts the “CHOP voice.”
- Provides support to the other members of the team and is flexible, understanding, steadfast and resilient;
- Creates original content for each stage of fundraising — cultivation, solicitation and stewardship;
- Understands how to work as a communications strategist by guiding others toward the right media choices for each assignment;
- Maintains a development communications portfolio to cover areas such as pediatric cancers, cardiovascular medicine and neurology;
- Demonstrates a consistent level of the highest quality of writing while accommodating the foundation’s fast-paced environment.
